I have a daugther who is 20 months old. She has/had a cleft in her palate .Because of which the ovula length was short. She had problems feeding since birth. She could not breast feed.We had to use special bottles for feeding her.Fortunately,we got advice at the right time.A surgeon suggested that this was the ideal time i.e. before 2 yours normally ,when the child is about to speak .
The surgery was done on 30th sept ,last month. It did go smoothly. The doctor informed that there were no issues. But after 2 days when my daughter was able to open her mouth we were shocked.we found that there was a big enough fissure in her palate. When we reported it to the doctor,he informed that 2 stitches had snapped. He said that this was not a cause of worry since the basic stitches were fine and we needed to wait patiently for the hole to narrow down .By Allah's grace,we noticed that after 1 week the hole diameter did start decreasing.
As on today ,after 1 month ,the hole is very small as compared to earlier.Hoping that it diminishes. Please advice if any more measures have to be taken
