I'm a little excited & nervous for my 18 yr old son who's leaving for Navy boot camp this coming feb 2014. Anyone else have a son or daughter leaving for Chicago this Feb?

how is everyone's loved ones doing in booth camp so far? My son graduates on the 25th of April and he says they haven't even start their official training yet. He sounds much better and doing well. He is enjoying the different environment. I got a letter from him and three phone calls so far, so I am happy for those.

My Son left Yesterday the 24th. I only cried about 4 or 5 times. But they were tears of joy mostly. Yes I am nervous as well, I know he will do good and so will your son. Lets just stay prayed up and hope for the best.

Koni,

My heart & prayers go out to both you, your son & his precious little one! This must be so difficult for u...I was 17 when I had my 1st son & had to really struggle raising him alone. What a wonderful mother you are!!!

My son leaves for great lakes on Feb 13, 2014 and I am excited but so sad at the same time. He is my first born and only son who is 18 and has a 1 year old daughter he will be leaving behind. How nnd parents do this? I guess it's hard because it is their dream not ours but I pray that he makes an awesome sailor and a great future for his daughter.

Is your husband going to boot camp as an unlistee or training instructed?

That's where my son will be going...same day. Maybe they will meet. We currently live in San Antonio, TX. I completely understand your nervousness for your oldest son. I have a lot of mixed emotions about any son Tyler leaving but know in my heart this will be good for him. He really lacks self discipline & has a bit of a "know it all" attitude...lol

I am excited to have him learn how to properly make his bed 😊

Where do you guys live? How many other kids do you have? I have 3 total including Tyler who is 18. My oldest son Jacob is 21 & my youngest daughter Chloe is 5.

I will say a prayer for you & your son to be safe.
