I have a 4 year old and I am trying to teach her how to read. She has a short attention span, and does not retain the reading very well, what can I do to help her?

That could be, but she is only 4 yrs old too. Allow her time. She does not have to be a wiz kid. Reading and spelling may not be her favorites all the way through school OR as she gets older and is ready for those they might become more of a favorite. Allow her to develop at her pass whether that be fast or slow.

She has been doing site words and rhyming since 3. She is great in math, I've been reading to her since in my belly. I just think she doesn't like reading or spelling.

Developmentally she might not be ready for that. Even though some kids are reading at 4 yrs. that is still pretty early. Most kids are not reading until 5 or 6 yrs. Right now read.to her, work on patterns and rhythmic words....cst, hat, mat. and the site words. Learning should be fun and can be incorporated into your play.
