My son is having difficulty reading. Should I get him a tutor? Does anyone know of any programs that could help him to read better? I was told of a program, Learning Press LLC. Moms who have used the program have seen their child improve in reading. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I agree with Michelle. Sometimes it is difficult for teachers to give every student the attention they need, handling 20 students at the same time is quite a task (I was only working with 6 students at a time). I hope everything goes really well. Set a strong foundation now and he will thank you later.

Thank you. I am having him tested by Learning Press LLC to see if they can give me some answers. My friend's son is in their program and is making lots of progress in reading. They use a program called "Pathways to the Mind." I printed their free book and it looks interesting. He has a lot of difficulty with phonics, and I am looking for a program that could help him with his sounds so he can be a better reader.

On top of all of that, you need to be sitting down with him every day and reading with him. The best teacher in the world for our children is us, their parents!

I think that a tutor and using supplemental websites could be helpful. A few places to try is at learning centers or online (like Beestar). There are a ton of free resources available to us now and I think that finding out what the issue is could help. And I would definitely work with him on a daily basis to make sure he has a strong foundation in reading. Beestar also has an honor roll system which could also help increase his desire to achieve higher results. Don't give up!

He is 7 years old. His teacher is concerned. I will look into a tutor. Thank you for the suggestion. Learning Press LLC does evaluations. I even found an offer on Groupon. I will follow your advice and see if they can help my son. Moms in my area have their children in this program and see improvement.

How old is he?
Is he having problems at school or are you wanting him to read before starting school.
If he's at school are his teachers concerned?
If yes, then probably look at getting a tutor or even discuss it with his teacher.
