I ordered oversided recieving blankets from www.preciousbloom.com and then attached a couple pieces of velcro. Wrap as you would in a regular recieving blanket and then the velcro holds it together. You can get iron-on velcro at Wal-mart.

I would say if you know a good seamstress, bring her the wrap and ask her if she can do one up in a larger size. Then you can pick out whatever colour/fabric you want.

if you or someone you know sews make one! use the small one you have as a pattern to make a bigger one out of a sheet or any other material you like. i have an aunt that sews things for craft sales , etc and she made me all the blankets/burp cloths, crib sheets and bibs that i could ever want

I've never heard of swaddling after 4 weeks old. Our pediatrician said not to.

If you have a sewing machine or a friend with a sewing machine, by some fabric you like and make your own, that's what I did, so much cheaper and you can make any size you want plus as a bonus you get the color/pattern you choose.

I swaddled my larger than average daughter until she was 11 months old, I had to make my own.

[deleted account]

my first would NOT swaddle but my 2nd was swaddled till 7 months.... and i used the Muslin wraps - they are huge blankets and they are lightweight enough that you don't have to worry about temperature control and a couple times I actually used 2. we used the aden and anais brand. I would literally roll my daughter over and wrap her like a burrito and twist the bottom and I also sewed my own velcro pieces on. Oh... and a i made a hooded wrap that I sometimes used over it and it had a little drawstring. My daughter is teeny tiny BUT my best friend has a HUGE BOY that they swaddled till 5 months with the same blankets.... and when I say huge i am talking 28 pounds at 5 months huge... ya, seriously! anyways, i think the aden and anais blankets would work for you.

If you haven't been successful already I have one from www.swaddledesigns.com VERY large blankets with instructions on how to swaddle sewn on to the blanket. My 2 yr old got it when she was born and sh still carries it around to this day. It is one of her favorite blankies. Hope this helps you.

I work at a childrens hospital and we just use a bigger blanket and swaddle them just take one corner and wrap it then pull the middle up then wrap the other corner and tuck it.

I think this is the name of the blankets I used: Luna Lullaby Soothing Swaddle Blanket
They are almost 4 feet x 4 feet, and the fabric is really lightweight and stretchy.

I ordered mine off of Lamama's websit. They have extra large size, but are soooo very hard too find.
