My 6 month old baby is suffering from Asthma and is on heavy medication which is making him very drowsy . My neighbor mentioned that using an air purifier in the baby room will help alleviate his condition .Can someone recommend an air purifier which is best suited for asthma . We checked out few regular air purifiers in Walmart but they are all too noisy and not suited for homes with infants.

If you are opting for a room air purifier a safe bet is a HEPA type. Look for a room air purifiers which has the capacity to trap fine dust particles. We use this particular ClairBF2025 ( which I received as a gift from a colleague. It doesn't make any noise and is easy to clean ,You can look for similar ones which are portable and can be placed near the baby.
Above all I suggest you find out the situation which is triggering asthma — perhaps something environmental, such as allergens or cigarette smoke. Allergy testing can also be useful for determining the triggering factor. You might consider eliminating rugs, curtains, and stuffed animals from the child's room to decrease dust and dust mite exposure, for instance.
