RECOMMENDATIONS FOR NEW MOMS

With my third I bought the Graco travel system like this one http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp...
I love it!! The car seat goes from 5 pounds to 35 pounds. If you have a preemie there are only certain car seats that will work due to allowing them to breathe properly. This is a car seat that will work for a preemie. Also with the max weight being 35 pounds it can last longer then others that only go up to 20 or 25 pounds.
The stroller is easy to push and can be folded with one hand. The stroller handle has multiple levels so you can adjust it to your height....this is liked by both me and my husband as he is tall and I am short. There are two cup holders and also a compartment to store stuff.....worked great for car keys or the pacifier. For the tray it has a cup holder and also a tray to put food (cheerios, etc.) Sippyes fit well in the cup holder. When you have the car seat attached to the stroller you are still able to get into the basket underneath the stroller....Chicco brands you are not able to do this. I also liked that when you have the car seat attached to the stroller you are able to put both umbrellas up and baby can be covered. We have two older kids, so spend many nights at the baseball and softball fields and I used that feature A LOT....also nice when it was rainy or cold....baby stayed nice and dry and you could also put blankets in and keep baby warm. My daughter is now 2 yrs old and I still continue to use the stroller. She naps in it when we are out and about. It is a bigger stroller then your umbrella strollers, but it also has more features.

we went for a convertible car seat (infant to 100lbs) instead of the normal baby car seat. I LOVE my convertible car seat b/c we haven't had to update it every year or so and it grows with her. when not in the car, she was in a baby sling until she was big enough to sit up for grocery shopping and we have a simple stroller if it was an outing to the mall or something. I have read lots articles warning about always having infants in containers such as baby car seats/swings/anything that has them (partially) reclined for extended amounts of time- it can lead to bad cradle, cap mis-shaped head from always be flat on the back of the head, and slower development of neck muscles. my personal opinion is the more they are able to interact with you the better which also led to my decision of convertible vs a carrier that goes in and out of the car (also lighter to just have a baby instead of baby AND 20-25lb carrier!). good luck in the decision making and congrats on your soon to be new arrival!
