Hi, I'm new to the site, so if this has been asked before I do apologize. My son just turned 5 months 3 days ago, and since birth has been home a total of 13 days, which was back in mid-September. He was born at 28 weeks with minimal complications at the time, but due to his prematurity he stayed in the NICU for 3 months after birth. His complications have since ranged from a narrowed airway, which was recently reconstructed, to reflux which causes aspiration and pretty severe eating problems mostly due to the reflux. He has been on Prilosec since shortly after birth, and we have tried multiple different feeding techniques but nothing seems to be doing the job. Today the doctor brought up the idea of doing a gastrostomy. I had a G tube as kid and absolutely hated in for many reasons I won't get into. I was doing some research and looked into a fundoplication and it seems to be something that may benefit my son. All in all, to those of you who have had similar issues, if you have, what are your opinions? Also, with a fundo, does the child still require a G tube? Any input would be GREATLY appreciated!
