Refusal of babyfood at 8 months, why?

My daughter had been eating baby food regularly since about 6 months and has since then got her first tooth at about 7.5 - 8 months and since that happened has started waking up at 5 am to bf goes to bed right after fed until 7am (bed time 8-8:30pm). She has started gagging on all of her baby food that she once would eat. I also wanted her to increase her eating to 3X a day to begin the weaning from BF naturally even though I know babies primarily need the boobie or formula until a year old. I have since started giving her 4 oz of formula to start her to wean but she still BF a lot throughout the day, snacking lots (my feeling is for comfort due to her teething). My concern is that she will be a picky eater due to not eating her baby food. I don't have a dr. apt until her 9 month checkup. The Dr. office had suggested she get less milk, even when my daughter is hungry she will gag on the baby food and I get frustrated, give up and BF her and then she is happy. My Grandmother, wise as she is had suggested I put a bit of baby food on my plate while I eat and this has worked but Mackenzie is still not eating the quantity she used to and won't eat in her highchair like she used to. Why the change?

stop with the baby food try giving her mashed up potatoes and such off your plate she is getting the vitamins and nutrients from being breast fed so don't worry about the four food groups right now. My daughter was horrible with baby food but once we started feeding her what we considered real food she started eating lots. Good luck.
