My sweet baby boy was born at 23/2 gestation. He had to have a PDA surgery and ever since then he's been having kidney problems. A little after that he had seizure and a gram negative infection that was identified as e.coli. They treated him for meningitis because of the seizures. He became very puffy because he stopped peeing and because there were so many fluids going in. He overcame it... Started peeing again and lost most of the fluid.
His BUN levels started to go up more. He received hydrocortisone to try and help his lungs and to get him off the dopamine. Everything was going well until he got infected with the same gram negative infection. He got really puffy again. Was pumped with meds. Was on epi raise his blood pressure. Then he started to come around again. His vent settings were getting better. He got off epi. Dropped on the dopamine. Started peeing A LOT... But his BUN numbers keep creeping up. The doctors say there is nothing they can do. That he can't get dialysis because his not a candidate. That he is small.
Please help!!! Has anyone been through this?
He is a fighter and I want to fight for him
