My 4 yeaar old son has moderate to severe speech deficit. He has been in speech therapy for half of his life and he has improved tremendously but I think he still needs extra help. When he was evaluated, it showed that he did not have any learning disablities but in children with severe speech delay, ADHD may develop or be present. I am starting to notice some of the characteristics of ADHD. I was told it could become a problem if it is not control now.

He is currently using the " My Baby Can Read" program. It has helped alot. He is going into kindergarten in Sept. and I want him to be ready. Is there any programs, services, etc that I can use at home to help promote better speech. Are they any tips that you may have? i am open to any and everything.

My cousin is a speech and language therapist and swears by the Jolly Phonics system. I'm not sure on the availability outside of the UK.

Maybe ask your speech therapist to recommend something for home, I'm sure he/she would be more than willing.
