Agreed on every count. One thing I might add, have his stool checked. The exact normal flora that Sarah has explain that is killed by use of antibiotics, in turn can exasperate the growth of other bacteria due to the normal flora being disrupted. It certainly may just be from teething, but if you are having a difficult time controlling it, a fecal exam with help rule out any other issues.

Teething can cause diarrhea, and juice should be avoided if he has loose stools. If he had a viral diarrhea, it should not have been treated with an antibiotic, but what is done is done. Antibiotics not only kill bacteria that make you sick but they can kill off the bacterial flora that is needed to form normal healthy stools. Often when an adult take an antibiotic the doctor will advise taking Acidophilus or other probiotic to prevent the disruption in bacteria in the intestine. Talk to your child's pediatrician about what foods or medication can help.
