Ring Upgrade?

[deleted account] ( 3 moms have responded )

I know this isn't a mom question, but I felt like this would be a good group to ask. Backstory:

My husband and I have been married for 8 years and have 3 kids. When we got married, we were very poor. I had just an engagement ring for the first few years, then bought a cheap wedding band on Etsy when I was pregnant with my 2nd kid because I kept getting weird looks (husband and I both look very young for our age.) It doesn't match my engagement ring at all, and has become very worn in the last few years.
Is it selfish to ask my husband for a new wedding band now that we are almost 10 years in, and way better off? I don't even want something expensive for fancy! Just something pretty and simple to compliment the engagement ring he so carefully picked out for me. And if it's o.k. how do I explain it properly? I don't want to sound like I'm greedy because that's really not my heart at all.

I agree with Shawnn but you could always renew your vows and get new rings.

You are not greedy, but you don't like your ring...

It isn't the ring that makes the relationship!

I think u should prepare his favorite meal for him, and start by telling him how wonderful he has been to u and the children, and maybe in bed remind him about ur anniversary, and ask him what he will be getting u, then maybe chip in the ring( tell him the ring is gorgeous however u want the 10yrs anniversary to be memorable and if he can get another, and if u re christain, tell him u want to bless the Rings(his and urs)) hope it's helpful
