yup, jennifer is right. Also, try laying on your back and putting your right leg across and over your left leg, rotating your hip. (kind of like a back stretch) Imagine a line being drawn across your belly button and try to get your right heel as in line with your belly button as possible to stretch that area. I used to do that when i was pregnant and it felt sooo good. it was on one of my prenatal work out videos.

Sounds like a Chiropracter could help with it if it is a disc out of place. Good luck...I never had it but I have heard how painful it is. Sorry you are suffering.

I had the same problem and delt with it for a good year. Finally went to the Dr.'s. He gave me a referral to get a MRI. Got the results back pretty quickly, my L5 disk was bulging. He recommended physical therapy. Within a couple months I was better. I held on to the sheet of exercises the pt gave me and do them as needed. They work like a charm. I wouldn't let it linger like I did. It could be worse than you think.

Definately go see your Dr.

I've had the same problem. It started acting up when I was preggo and it flairs up every so often. I found out what was triggering mine and that was all the "floor time" I was spending with my daughter. The suggestions that the other ladies gave are good. The only advice I can give is try to find out whats triggering the pain and try to avoid it. maybe try sleeping on the couch for one or two nights to see if that helps. Sometimes that what I have to do.

I have had sporadic episodes of sciatica since I had my second child. You should visit your doctor.

I suggest you make an appointment with a complementary therapist. Suggest a good reflexologist, osteopath or kinesiologist.

It's your sciatic nerve and the pain itself is called sciatica. Once that nerve is damaged anything can trigger the pain again. They recommend alternating heat and cold to relieve it.
