Scared of having a miscarriage

It can be really difficult for some mom's to relax. The thing about pregnancy is that it's mostly beyond your control. A doctor once confessed to me that even doctors don't deal very well with pregnancy, because they like to control things, and pregnancy is mostly beyond anyone's control.
That said, you have a lot things you can take comfort in. No spotting or bleeding is a good sign. And once you've seen a heartbeat the risk of a miscarriage is much lower. If you've never had a miscarriage before, a heartbeat at 8 weeks puts your risk of miscarriage at about 2%... and your risk only gets lower from there.
The vast majority of miscarriages happen much earlier than this, and most women have warning signs that it's going to happen - spotting, bleeding, lack of pregnancy symptoms, baby measuring small at an early ultrasound, etc.
There are no guarantees, but you are absolutely through the riskiest time.
