Hi everyone. My 22 month old little girl has for the past two weeks crying herself to sleep. I put her down at around 8:30 everynight and she cries and screams for at least 30 minutes until she finally goes to sleep. I feel like I'm sleep training all over again. HORRIBLE~! Is anyone else going thru this. I need some advice on what to do. I hate having to have her cry it out, but I don't see any other alternative. HELP!!! Thank you!

Try and put her down at around 9 or 9:30, That is what time my 2 year old goes down and every night we put Johnny Cash on repeat for him. Hope this helps!

THanks All!!! We haven't changed anything about her bedtime. I've been putting her down at 8 forever. I don't know what happened. And we try going in every 15 minutes to tell her everything is okay and not pick her up and she still continues to scream on top of her lungs. Not sure what to do anymore. I'm hoping it's a phase and she will grow out of it. SOON!! Thank everyone :)

Have you changed anything about her bed time routine? My little one did the same thing when daddy started working away. I just spent a bit more time over bed time trying to reassure him, and would pop back in every 10 mins or so to just calm him and reassure him again. It was exactly like going back to sleep training! Good luck

first why is she screaming? do you think she may be scared? perhaps she had a bad dream? maybe she is just over tired by the time 8:30 rolls around and CIO is her way to calm down?
maybe try starting bed time routine earlier, say 7:00
start with her cleaning up her things from the day, choosing her jammies having a bath (make it fun) have a healthy snack with a glass of warm milk and read her a few of her favorite stories in her room with the lights dimed.
maybe you can invest in a fun night light, my daughters have a twilight turtle. they are really cute, play music and project stars on the ceiling in 3 diferent colors a bit pricy but the $40 investment stopped my daugter from comming out of her room every 20 min.
good luck, know bed time struggles can be difficult

Im stuck in the same boat. Im at a loss. my daughter screams until she throws up. which is such a mess to clean up. She wants to be rocked until she is completely asleep., If I try anything else it is a disaster. I havent tried it yet but thinking about it but on that nanny 911 show they talked about letting your baby cry for 15 min then going in saying goodnight or its time for sleep. Keeping it minimal and walking back out of room. For every 15 minutes of continual crying you go in once to verbal comfort only. Try not to touch. If she cries for 4 min then quiets down and starts crying again...you are suppose to start the 15 min over again. Dont know if this will help but Im gonna try it
