I think the pros/cons list needs to be something that you and your husband make not the rest of us. Each person and family is going to be different leading to a different pros/cons list for each person/family. This has to be a decision you two talk about and come to a consensus on.

As for age ranges between kids that is also going to depend on family and person. Some people like all their children close in age, others like them spread out. No matter the age difference they will still be siblings and act like siblings. They are still going to play together and have their own special relationship. They are also going to pick on each other no matter age difference. My first two are 3 yrs apart, my second and third are 10 yrs apart. All three of my kids play together. Each plays differently as each has their own special relationship, but they all are close.

Sarah H. is correct, for my family having 4 kids in 7 years worked for us. This is a personal decision and we can list many pros and cons, but ultimately you are the one to make the choice.

Alison is correct about having a sibling, that is a good thing. However, your son is six, so if you don't conceive right away you are looking at an 8-9 year age gap. That is a big gap to "play" together. If you aren't sure you want to start over, and you are happy with one child, there is nothing wrong with that decision.

Other then going threw all them aggravating baby stages again... Your son will have a brother or sister to grow up with and play with...
