Sex or walking, both are truely the only ways to help a baby move a long. Male sperm will help with the cervic because they carry the same hormon needed for labour. Walking helps because you are moving around and gravity is working for you (btw walking during labour also helps you have a faster labour). But that all being said, a baby will come when it is ready to come. You truely cant induce yourself, unless your baby is already to come, and just needs a little help. At 1 cm and not effacement, you have a while to go.

my husbands aunt is a l&d nurse and she said the only thing that truly works is walking, not la dee da walking like cleaning aroung the house. At least 30 min of purposfull walking. I didnt believe her so I tried frsh pine apple, castor oil, enimas, everything but sex, but that was because hubby wasnt willing. When none of that worked I stated walking at my local ymca. at least 30 min, at least once a day, did that for 4 days he was born on the fifth day. 2 days before his due date, I wish I had tried it earlier.

I have a seven week old baby. I had her 10 days before my due date. The day that I went into labor, I walked about three miles and then pulled weeds out of my flower garden for about an hour. My back was sore after pulling the weeds, so make sure that you don't stay bent over for too long if you try this. Good luck!

Primrose Oil is supposed to help prepare the cervix... sex, walking, spicy food have all been shown to help induce labor. Drink some raspberry leaf tea. However, I did anything and everything to help my first daughter to "move along" from 38 weeks on, and she was 10 days overdue, induced, and she hadn't even dropped yet, so nothing may work!! :) Good luck, hang in there!

One of my OB's who trained with midwives told me to take black cohosh (can be found at GNC) and drink red raspberry leaf tea. I was also walking and swimming every day. Not sure if it worked. My son was 10 days late.....but who knows, he could have been 15 days late, and I was going to try anything that may possibly get him out of there ASAP! Good luck!
