Sept 1st is school cut off date. My youngest,a girl, was born on this date. What to do.....start or hold back a year? Other issue is that her brother is 10 months and 2 weeks older than her and this would put them in the same grade if I chose to start her! I'm on the fence and only have 6 months to deceide what to do...any thought?

My son was born sept 1 also and we started him but he was clearly ready. If I were in your shoes and had one that was 10 months older I would hold her back. I think that in reality she would be fine either way but you also have another child to think about.

I would not judge this based on both children. I would solely judge it on each individual child. If she is ready for kinder, start her. If you do not want your kids in the same class, express that to the school before they both start. Do not base whether or not she should start on the fact that they will be in the same grade, base it on her progress alone. There are plently of twins that are in the same grade and classes for obvious reasons, and they do fine. They are not even a year apart, so this is not so unusual to have happen.
It is a slippery slope to start treating one child a certain way simply because of the other child. It really would not be fair to your daughter to base her education off of what her brother is doing. I think you would be doing her a disservice if you hold her back and she is ready for kinder.
