Sex after birth

I gave birth 6 weeks ago and 5 days ago we had sex using the pull out method. I went to my 6 week check up and got a script for the pill. The doc said if you have had sex you should take a hpt to make sure your not pregnant before starting the pill. I'm not sure when I should take the test as I only had sex 5 days ago and the hcg hormone probably won't show up yet. As my period hasn't returned yet I'm not sure when it would be due to know if it's a missed period. Any thoughts???

I suggest condoms, the nurses told me that you have to be SUPER DUPER careful for the first 6 months because you can get pregnant super easy. They failed to tell some people I know and they got pregnant while having to take care of their first newborn.
And your Horomones are out of wack so I'm not entirely sure when your cycle kicks in and starts regulating, I haven't had one cause of breastfeeding but I'm sure you should probably be getting it soon.

Thoughts are that you could very well be pregnant, as the "pull out" method is a crock of crap.

Your doctor should be able to determine whether or not you are with a blood test. If not, then double up on your barrier method before having sex again, and don't start the pill until you're sure.
