So its been 6 weeks since I gave birth. I did not tear or nothing. But I haven't had my postpartum check-up yet? Is it okay to have sex yet?

Most physicians and the AMA recommend a period of 6-8 weeks with no penetration. In order to allow time for healing and muscle tone to return. You can be intimate in other ways if you desire, but actual intercourse "off the menu" for 6 weeks unless your doctor has cleared you. While some women will not conceive while breastfeeding, it is not foolproof and you should always assume you are fertile unless you or your partner is sterile.

Hopefully your partner is not pressuring you for sex. Be very careful and don't rush it if there's any pain. Use birth control so you don't get pregnant again. Your body definitely needs to heal before you have another baby.

Thanks @Maryann Fawkes! I'm trying to be very careful I recently started my first period so does that mean I can get pregnant right after if not careful?

Some suggest you dont, some suggest you try so that if theres pain, you can talk to the appropriate doctor about it. If youre scared or anxious at all... Definitely wait. If you're ready... Good for you. If there is pain, stop.
