At what age do you begin talking about sex with children. This is not in our culture but society is changing and would like to break the norm.

Well, I guess for starters, how old are your kids?

From the beginning, I have always called their private parts by the correct names. I have discussed with both of my children (8&4) what to do if someone touches them inappropriately, and if they are ever exploring themselves, that they can do it at home in the privacy of the bathroom or their own rooms. That their bodies are theirs. Not to touch other kids bodies, and to respect themselves and eachother.

My son will be 9 next may, and I will start the real discussion about puberty then. He already asks questions, and I keep an open honest dialogue with the both of them. I want to be open now, so when they are older and have boyfriends/girlfriends, hopefully they will come and talk about their questions.
