SHOES that won't fall apart??? 6th grade boy

What brand is he wearing? What kind of shoe does he wear?
My husband is really rough on shoes as well.
For sneakers, we like LOWAs, Salomans, and Oboz. If you are on a budget, Teva, Merrills, and Keen make pretty durable shoes for less than $150, but they won't last as long as the more expensive brands.
If he prefers a sportier look (popular with his age group), try Blackstone, Puma, or Diesel. Avoid Nike, they are notoriously cheaply made. I have friends who swear by Sketchers and New Balance for budget friendly shoes, but my husband tears them up in weeks. They will not last as long as the ones in the first group, but they look cool and cost considerably less.
For dress shoes, my husband likes Ecco. They are affordable and pretty durable, but like any dress shoe they will wear fast if he does a lot of walking in them.
To make them last, always insert a shoe shaper when shoes are not in use, and use a shoehorn when putting shoes on, even if they have string ties or elastic cords. Also, make sure he takes them off when he gets home. Keep an older pair of shoes for "evening" wear, after school and weekends when he is not going anywhere, and save the newer ones for school and outings.
