Good day Moms!

My name is Portia a mother of a 4 months old baby boy, I need your advice on this issue. My baby only naps for 30-45 minutes per nap, that keeps me exhausted I don't get enough rest forever having a headache, even bought him a pacifier thinking it would help in the regard but instead he cries every time it falls out of his mouth.

Please advice me, your wise words will be highly appreciated.

You will really be able to get him into a routine soon. Eventually drop the third nap, and he will take time to adjust. His naps should change and be longer to make up for lost nap time.

That is pretty normal.
His short naps might just be normal for him. He will eventually grow out of it and need longer stretches of sleep. When he goes through growth spurts, he is probably eating more and sleeping more, so maybe he just went through one and doesn't need as much sleep now. Just keep doing what you are doing momma. You are doing great! My daughter would sleep like that, and when she actually started taking longer naps at about 6-8 mos old, it was a big relief.

My son was a cat napper. I don't think he ever napped longer than 45 minutes until he was down to one nap a day. Then he could nap for as short as 5 minutes (boy that was a 'fun' day...) or as long as 3.5 hours. The first time he napped for an hour and a half I must have checked his breathing 20 times since it was son unusual for him to sleep that long.

SOME kids follow a nice, 'normal' napping schedule (my girls did)... some do not. Exhausting, but normal.

My son did the same, he stopped waking up in the middle of the night for his soother when he was around 6 months old and finally stopped with the 30 minute catnaps when he was almost 9 months old, at which point he went down to 2 naps per day, the first one is about an hour and a half long and the second one is about an hour long. He also sleeps 11-12 hours each night.

Hang in there.

He wakes up after 2 to 3 hours of sleep, and I give him a pacifier then sleeps again

Is he sleeping through the night or at least long stretches?
