It's not true that nobody cares what you wear. People do stare and they do judge. It's crazy to suggest that they don't. There is a never ending river of research studies about how appearance matters.

You can say that you shouldn't care what people think, and it's fine that some people don't care what others think, but the harsh truth is that you can be helped or hurt a great deal by the assumptions others make about you based on your appearance.

That said, a short skirt, in and of itself, shouldn't be an issue. A short skirt can absolutely be part of a very tasteful. or age appropriate, or mom appropriate outfit.

You do however, need to feel comfortable and confident in what you wear. Even if your outfit is fine, but you feel awkward or uncomfortable in it, or you feel like you're being judged, that discomfort will show and you won't look nearly as good if you wear something you're confident in.

Please don't think I'm saying that all people judge either. Many people do judge more than the realise, but I'm well aware that not all people judge based on appearance. On average though, a huge amount of judging happens based on how you look.

Nobody cares what you wear, why should you? It doesn't matter wear what ever makes you feel comfortable.

You should wear what makes you feel comfortable. A short skirt in the summertime is just like wearing a pair of shorts when the weather is warm. It won't draw judgement by default. You see lots of ads for strollers where the mom is tastefully dressed even though she's showing lots of leg.

A short skirt that is tight, worn with spike heels and a revealing top could certainly get you noticed in a way that you might not want to be noticed, but a skirt that is just short, not tight, worn with regular shoes and a regular top, can just look nice.

Again though, dress they way you want. If you feel like changing your style now that you're a mom that's okay. If you like your old style that's fine too!
