My 6 year old daughter was diagonised with ADHD. I really want to help her. But I am a very short tempered person and I am not able to tolerate her behaviour. I really want to control myself and be a good mother so that I can help her to overcome her ADHD.

Thanks Jennifer for your valuable suggestion. I think this is a better suggestion.

get to a support group for moms with kiddos with ADHD. also learn as much about it as possible and get both of you to a therapist. a kiddo therapist and social group for kids with ADHD and one for you to process all the mommy stuff that is going to come up. There are a lot of tools a therapist can teach you to assist your kiddo and yourself and being around other parents and getting feedback from them is a life saver. plus a lot o ADHD kids need other kids and social skill building. I am a mental health specialist and a mother of a happy and frustrating 12 year old daughter with ADHD. I would be crazycakes if it were not for therapy and support groups. it has helped our communication, my patience and my understanding of her frustrations. it can be really hard. dont go it alone.
