An old friend of my son's found him on Facebook and told him he had a 23 yr old daughter. The mistake was, everyone formed a relationship with the daughter "before" receiving dna results. It's been 7 yrs. and some of the family feel she has a right to know the truth. She has 2 little girls and unbeknownst to her, this is the 2nd or 3rd time her mom has pulled this.

She has every right to know the truth. You all can still be her 'family' even if you aren't biologically related. If this is the second or third time her mom has done it she is probably, unfortunately, used to it.

She has every right to know who her biological father is. Not only because she deserves to know the truth, but also for medical history. She may want to actually meet her father one day. That is not for anyone to decide but her. Maybe the mother is hiding it from her because the bio father doesn't know the truth either.

Short ANSWER: YES.

sorry about the caps...damn tablet...

I think, however, if DNA has been run, she has already been notified, since she would have had to give her consent as an adult submitting to the test...

I am very confused by your post though. I am not sure who is who, but either way, every individual has the right to know who the parents are.
