my daughter was 2 in feb and she can read words and numbers, i got a letter from sky a few weeks ago and she likes to pretend she is reading my letters and she pointed at the word sky and said sky. i passed this off as a fluke but a week or so later we passed a casino and we werent even looking at if and she pointed to the sign and said casino, she also pointed at the word daddy when i wrote it and she said daddy, she was watching peppa pig and she shouted the word stars and she said mummy look, stars so i looked and the word on the tv was stars. was over at my mums today and she was playing with giant foam numbers and she picked up the 6 and said 6. i said was other number can it be? she turned it upside down and said 9. is this normal? i find it a bit usettling, can other kids read at 2?

It does seem that you have a very smart child. No there is nothing wrong, just more unusual and advanced. Not a bad thing.

maybe unsettling was the wrong word, suppose just a bit worried that there was something wrong cos most of her friends cant even talk yet and theres my daughter reading and counting, bit worried she might have peaked too early lol

Every child is different. A friend of mine has a little girl who is 2 and she can read several words. I could fully read at 4. I don't understand why you would find it unsettling for a child to hit early milestones. I would be very proud.
