Should cold sores be a concern for your daycare providers?

I heard it can be really dangerous for newborns, I actually read about a few days old baby that died because of it eventhough she didn't have a coldsore on her mouth.. It is a virus that stays with you forever and it is very contegious so the longer you can keep them away from it the better I say

Yes, they are a herpes type virus and are contageous, can cause other infections in small ones because their little bodies get too busy fighting it off that they can't handle any other things that come along.

YES!!!!!!!!!



Especially if your child is a NEW BORN. When our daughters were young children I had child care in our home. One of my families had a child that had been accidently exposed to a cold sore and almost died. If your child is older there is always the chance of exposer but I can not give accurate data.
