That is because he is only one. He is going to learn over time to talk. You can not expect him to talk just because he is one. It takes a couple of years to learn to talk and have enough vocabulary to produce even up to 3 to 4 word sentences. You need to talk to him all the time using correct speech patterns not baby talk or babbling. Point out things and say the names of them every time. Acknowledge his needs and use the correct wording for those needs. He will in time learn to talk. Do not rush his growing up, enjoy him.
