My son is 2 years old he got ear tubes in both of his ears about a month ago. The ENT told me to use ear plugs during showers and while swimming but one always falls out during a shower. How worried should I be about this? I mean I want to prevent ear infections as much as possible but not sure how much that will be affected..........

You do the best you can to keep the water out. We used Mack's, which is a putty or wax that you can shape to fit in the ear. Then, over that we put a strip of paper tape designed for medical use. That seemed to keep the plug in fairly well.

I was told not to let water in the ear, becuase the ear drumb has an opening. But water near the ear, around the outside should not be a problem. Ask your doctor, She will know best
