The only thing I have to say is I guess everyone is different because I did get my period and cramped a lot BUT I had the copper IUD because the mirena was not out at the time and I have heard that the mirena is better

I used to be on the pill until I discovered the magic of the IUD and specifically Mirena and also after I started looking for something more natural. I never liked the pill, always had extremely severe cramping and often heavy bleeding. Am now on my 2nd iud, having replaced the first one after 5 years, and I don't have any cramps, no periods and no worries. But if you want to go even more natural, there is a product called Lady-comp, Pearly and Baby-comp which are all hormone-free. Best of luck!

I prefer an IUD to anything. It is no hassle, no fuss, no remembering. Get it put in one time and it is done for the next 5 years or so, unless you get it taken our before then!!!

after my 3rd child i was going to have the iud done until I looked further into it and the possibility of the string coming out scared me so I just had the essure done. completely happy about my choice. I was on the pills before deciding and like most woman pills just suck. always having to remember to take the pill. You can do the shot every three months.

I did both I love the iud because you dont need to worry about taking something everyday. The only bad thing was that you have to check for the string on occasion bc it can move out of place which is dangerous..ive had 2 and that never happened to me. I love the pill bc i an on beyaz and i get my period for 4 days with the iud its long and heavy and crampy. I love both and would do the iud if i were going to leave it in for a while.

I had my iud after my 2nd child and loved it. no need to worry it was there. the down side is that it could effect ur hormones at first, and your hubby may be able to feel the strings that are threw ur cervic (which feel like fish line at first but soften up after awhile) but the up side is no periods and no daily pill!!
