Should I go to the Hospital or see the Dr?!?

[deleted account] ( 3 moms have responded )

My son (who is 4) has very swollen tonsils (that's what we think they are). He is not in any discomfort, and if he hadn't been doing a very wide mouthed laugh then we wouldn't have seen them.

It really worrying me because they look like they are nearly closing over his throat! But he is acting fine, and hasn't been sick lately or anything. He is being completely normal.

I am not sure if I should take him to the hospital now/today or wait until Monday (it is Saturday now) to see our regular doctor.

Any advice would be good.

Swollen like the way you are describing once you have insurance take him to the hospital it wont hurt to do so ..

If that is not the case still take him to get checked out before Monday .. today is today and Monday lets just say its two days away. I know there are kids that could have high fevers or be in discomfort and you would never know cause they are always active kids regardless.

Yes you should take your son to be checked . I know as parents we sometimes think we know what is best ,but I would think once you ever start to worry you seek professional help.
