Hi ,
I'm a first time single mom and new at the find a sitter game. Right now I'm in the face to face interview stage where she will get a chance to interact w child for 1st time. Wondering what might be the appropriate time for someone to spend on this meeting... Also would it be a good idea to pay her for her time ? What would I pay ? Would an hrs pay or half of an hour's pay be appropriate. Please let me know your thoughts on this.
Thanks all!

If it is part of the interview process, no you don't have to pay. If it is a trail shift, however, that's different.

I agree, at this stage if you will be around and she will be meeting your child, you do not pay her. If she does well and comes back for a few hours while you go in and out, then you can pay her a pre-arranged rate.

Like the others have said, if it's an interview then an hour should be set aside for each person and there's no need to pay them for it.
If you are wanting to do a 3 hour trial then they should be paid at the normal hourly rate.

You are assessing her ability to meet your child's needs. She doesn't have the job yet.
No, this is not an instance where you need to pay her.
