I am currently sixteen weeks pregnant with my first child. I resigned my teaching job last year for a school district I no longer cared to work for. I am married and my husband has a good income so I could get away with not working.
I recently applied to substitute teach at a local school district so that I'd have some extra income while I tried to decide what else I might like to do besides teach. I received a phone call from the director of HR at the district office who asked if I'd be interested in teaching full time rather than subbing. I told him I'd have to think about it. I went ahead and agreed to an interview but I'm not sure how I should respond if offered a job. I've been reading a lot of posts online about pregnant teachers who are stressed and exhausted and aren't very motivated because of how they are feeling. I am tempted to take the job to save up some extra money before the baby comes but I also don't want to be a crappy teacher. Anyone have any thoughts or advice?
