No, I wouldn't worry. All children develop their fine motor skills at a different pace, and 5 is not at all concerning. All I can suggest is to get a book for her at home, and have her practice her writing a little bit (make sure the book has lines - I am assuming her book has lines???? If not her teacher is a moron). Don't push it too much, you don't want her disliking writing, but just a little practice. You can also purchase handwriting books to help them.

But I will say again. She is FIVE. I personally think your teacher is being overly anal.
