You cleaning your 14 yo kid's genitals is sexual abuse. Period. Your kid is the same as any other 14 yo. He needs to pay attention to hygiene, and he needs to be reminded to do so. Now that he's gotten an infection, I bet he cleans himself more thoroughly from here on out.

On an aside, I've noticed an upsurge of these type of question. I'm wondering if there's just an upsurge in trolling activity, or if these folks asking these questions truly do not understand appropriate behaviour with their children!

My 7 y/o step-son is not circumcised, and he knows how to properly wash himself. No, you should not wash your 14 y/o son. You should remind him that he needs to pay special attention to that area to avoid another infection.

Does he have any physical or mental special needs that make him incapable of caring for his own body? That is the only way I could possibly see your question as being legit. Otherwise... you would know that it is not appropriate at all. He's old enough to know how to do it himself (actually... preschoolers are old enough to know how to do it themselves... unless there are special needs not being mentioned).
