My stepson has been coming over saying his mom made him smoke and that her bf puts beer in a McDonald's cup and gives it to him.I've been in his life since he was 1 so I care for him like he's my
own.and I don't think this is something a 5yr old would be lying about.but I'm not sure

You should absolutely say something. Depending on your relationship with his mom.
You can bring up casually like, "hey, have you heard any crazy things coming out of, insert child's name here, mouth lately? That he smokes and drinks beer?"

Maybe if you phrase it like that she wont feel threatened (maybe not the right word) oor judged. But no matter what his safety is your main concern and it should be hers.

Hope it doesn't have to come to you guys calling the authorities but if it does, be strong.
Kids should never smoke/drink and if his mom and step dad are making/encouraging this, they should not be in his life (at least not unsupervised).

Put the child first! Always. They are the innocent ones, we as parents are the ones who screw them up.

Good luck!
