Second on the other comment.

BRAT diet (Bananas, rice, apples, toast) is an excellent recommendation. BUT If he's actively vomiting, that needs to stop before he tries to eat a lot.

I'd start with saltines and a glass of water to sip, or jello. Have him nibble on the saltines and sip on the water. If he's been vomiting, he'll want to gulp the water, but it will only make him vomit again.

My mom used to make "jello water" when we had the flu, which was jello before you do the last step with the ice cubes and cold water. I tried that with my kids, and they hated it...but then again, they hated jello when they were little too.

If he continues to vomit, you may consider taking him to the pediatrician, as prolonged vomiting is not only a symptom of other issues, but can cause other health issues as well.
