It's been a while since I've been on here because I've been so busy lately. On January 30, I delivered a beautiful baby boy. For the first few days, everything was going great. However, good things don't always last.
Last Saturday, my son stopped eating. We kept trying and trying to get him to eat but he was being unresponsive and was just not eating. At 2:30 am on Sunday morning, we took our son to the hospital. They discovered that he had low blood sugar. On further observation, the doctors sent our son to the state capital to the children's hospital. On the way there, one of the EMTs found that he was having seizures.
Since we have been here, we have discovered that our son has had some minor brain damage due to the seizures but the doctors are optimistic that he will be just fine and can be as normal as possible. Now this is the part where we are a little confused. We have been told that the reason why all of this has started because our son was in the first stages of SIDS. What I don't understand is, how did he survive if he was going through this? You hear about SIDS, you automatically think "OMG this child is dead!" But that is what they are saying. My son survived SIDS.
Has anybody ever heard of this happening?
