Silent treat for no reason.

My 19 year old son is giving me the silent treatment. When he was home for the holidays we found out he failed out of college. He failed 2 classes 1 because it was hard the other because he didn't go to classes. So he was kicked out, he had the option to appeal but declined. It's been 3 weeks since we spoke. He went back to his apartment because the rent is paid for Jan. He's mad because I won't pay his rent until Aug, when the lease is up. He said he will get a job and never come home. I'm so sad and depressed that this is happening, I don't know what too do! Am I wrong??

I'm sorry. :( Just keep your chin up. He's just going through the young kid in college phase. It happened to me and I treated my parents like crap. But they love me and forgave me each time. He's still stuck in between being a kid and becoming an adult. He still loves you. He just needs space.

Thanks , this it the hardest thing I've ever gone through. It's just heart breaking.

I don't have a child that old. But my ex boyfriend sounds a lot like that. You did the right thing. If he won't put on his big boy pants willingly. Then he'll have to when he's homeless. He'll get over it. Just give him time; he can't be mad at you forever, you're his only mother. Just hang tight. Best of luck.
