How old would you stop singing a nightly song wether it be a nursery rhyme or pop song to your child, i sing every night to my 9yr son and my friend thinks this is inappropriate thinking he would be laffed at by his friends, she also thinks its an attachment thing and its a way for my son to keep a hold on me, what do you all think please?

It's a special moment between you and your son, hold on to it for as long as you can. He'll let you know when it's time to stop.

If you want to sing the song then sing it as long as he's happy. He will get a bit older and probably say for you not to sing it around his friends. You will always hold that song special between the two of you, I think it's nice.

until he tells you to stop it is just fine. I still have to go hug and kiss my 11 year old boy before he goes to bed. It is a comfort thing for him and why not let them be little for as long as possible they are teenagers soon enough when this will no longer be cool
