Hi everyone. Just a quick bit about me and what I am here for!
I am a 39 year old single mother of a beautiful, smart as a whip 7 year old girl. I was diagnosed with ADD and BiPolar at 32. I struggle with motivation and patience and, although I mostly keep it together, I feel like some days she would be better off without me.
I have friends and family who support me, but I am also very sensitive and often take things the wrong way. My daughter has developed these traits and it's heartbreaking.
I have a great job that I love, but it is SO hard working from home. I never stick to a schedule, I don't hardly cook and I do go out too often (about twice a week). Her homework is always done, she is always clean and well dressed, she is in activities and has play dates often with my friends' kids. She is a very loving child, but emotional and easily offended.
Anyway, I just wanted to become part of a community that understands. It's one thing to be a single parent. It's another thing to be a single bipolar parent. When you throw in the issues my daughter faces with getting along with peers, I often feel like NO ONE can understand.
I hope everyone is having a good day and I am glad to be sharing my story.
