My son is 9yrs old and ADD & ADHD, the problem is he doesn't sleep. He is not on medication nor do I want to put him on any. He is extremely intelligent and is an honor student. He does take melotonin at night and is able to fall asleep but is up within a few hours. Any suggestions?

Thank you so much for the response. Sometimes I feel so alone at times when it comes to his ADD & ADHD. Where we live he doesn't have any friends his age and he is also home schooled. I work full time so it is a struggle at times. I had him take a lavender bath before bed tonight and I will try your suggestions. I appreciate the advise.

My 9 year old twins have aspergers and also have trouble sleeping. They take melatonin but it is only a short term fix. Here are some bedtime things we have had success with, lavender essential oil baths, lavender essential oil infusion into the bedroom air, liquid probiotic in some milk followed by a spoon of honey. Two TBSP of Nordic Naturals fish oil (strawberry) mixed into some no sugar added apple sauce.......you can't taste or smell the fish. Bouncing on the trampoline, or jumping in general for 10-15 minutes prior to bed. We also make sure that they do not eat close to bedtime. They still struggle to fall asleep but now they sleep through the night. Best wishes.
