My 8 month old has been rocked to sleep at daycare since 6 week old and Wi am now trying to break her out of it. She cries for about 3-5 mins and is asleep on her own, but wakes up early from her naps and still wakes up 1-2 times at night.she has also been falling asleep on the bottle and I'm working on breaking her of that habit as well. Should I feed her still at night when she wakes? Like I said, I think she is only sleeping because she is used to falling asleep on the bottle. She has slept thru the night ONCE and I don't know what I'm
doing wrong. HElP!!

I had the same problem with my son, always rocked to sleep and would wake several times a night. I think it helped me when I gave him some cereal(warm)mixed in with the bottle, that way it was more filling and he could sleep. Sleep issues are very hard and I noticed the more repetition I did he eventually learned to stay in his bed and feel safe.

At 8 months I would say probably two naps a day lasting for about 1-2 hrs each. Usually by time they reach 1 yr or a little after they are down to 1 nap a day 1-2 hrs long. Some kids need more sleep and other less. So some are ready for 1 nap a day before 1 yrs and others are doing 2 naps day at least 2 hrs long. I would say make sure last nap is done before 4 pm.

No one has a real answer to this but how many and how long should she be napping throughout the day?

At 8 months she does not need a bottle in the middle of the night. I would try and leave her be for awhile when she wakes in the middle of the night or up early from her nap. Allow her to try to figure out how to put herself back to sleep without rocking or the bottle.
