Sleeping!

[deleted account] ( 3 moms have responded )

My spouse and I are having a hard time with our son going down for naps and going to bed at night on his own. Any tips?

I would let my boys cry for up to an hour and if he falls asleep while feeding try tickling his feet while he eats to keep him up. And if he still won't sleep in his own bed they make these little barriers to put between you and your husband in your bed so the baby can sleep in bed with you and you don't have to worry about rolling over on top of him. You should be able to find them at babiesrus I would try that if you can't get him to sleep in his crib.

He just turned 4 months. He will only fall asleep in our arms or in bed with us while feeding at the same time. Also when putting him in his crib, how long should we let him cry to self sooth?

How old is your son? Depending on his age he mite be at the point where he doesn't want to take naps. you could just keep him up all day and put him to bed early by the time bedtime comes he should be sleepy enough to go to bed on his own
