Hello,

My son is 20 months old. He went from sleeping all night @ 6 months to now waking up 2-3 times a night. I'm sure we made the mistake of allowing him to have a bottle each time he woke up, after a two months of waking up every night, I'm done. The last two night, the first time we checked to make sure he was, laid him back down and let him cry it out. He cried for he only cried for ten minuets. Any tips, tricks or advice?

Yeah, I guess 10 minutes isn't too bad. I know I got so frustrated when mine where that age that I let my oldest CIO too, only once. Then I felt bad.

I don't know methods, but if he's falling asleep with only 10 minutes of crying as a toddler I still don't see a problem. For a young infant, yes, I wouldn't even go 5 minutes (wouldn't actually do CIO at all), but at 20 months? I don't know. Just my thoughts.

Only 10 minutes of crying at 20 months? I don't see the problem.

Crying any longer than that certainly needs attention, but for 10 minutes or less I would just let him be.

Please, please research CIO. It does not mean to let them cry for an unspecified amount of time. I can understand the bottle thing, but don't cut him off cold turkey. Ease him into it. Give him ONE for a week and then, none for a week or every other night.
