I'm starting on this with my almost 9 mo old also. I'm okay with feeding her in the early am hours, after she's slept for quite a while, but the early wake ups (before I go to bed) I try to just lay her back down and let her fuss back to sleep. It's hard to listen to her cry, and I go in every 5 or 10 mins, but it's what I had to do with my first as well. It does work, or at least it does for us. As long as you know he's ok, and you've got lots of cuddles when he really needs them, a little crying to sleep should be ok. :)

9 months, I really think it is my fault...when he wakes up crying at around 10:30, I usually (however, I am currently trying to break this habit) just go get him and we go to the couch. Just last night, was the begininng of me "cutting the cord",lol. I went in his room made sure he was ok, tried to get him back to sleep in his room, but it did not work, so I just went in the living room and listened to him cry for a good bit but when he did go back to sleep he slept until 6:00 this morning, so like I say, I think it had a lot to do with me letting go a little too.
