Sleeping in own room at 3 weeks?!

Hi mummies, I have been advised by a midwife to begin putting my 3week old son in a cot in his own room in order to get him used to his cot and room and to get him and us to sleep better. However, I have never heard of moving a newborn into their own room...I thought it was at least 3 months. He sleeps in a Moses basket next to our bed and wakes every 3 hours through the night to feed which I think is great at present and I would be too scared of him being in another room even with the baby monitor on! Please can you share your thoughts?

All 3 of mine slept in their own room from the day we got home from the hospital.
You have to do what you feel comfortable with but I found that they (and us) slept a lot better, especially while I was breastfeeding because they couldn't smell my milk.
