I just found out that my 9 year old is sleeping on the floor next to his dad and g/f. His dad has every other weekend visitation, had a house at the time of our court order, but recently lost it, so he's living upstairs of his bar in a small, apartment with no bedrooms. It's only got 1 exit/entrance, so I'm not only concerned about safety in case of fire, but now that I know he's sleeping with his g/f right next to our son, I'm concerned about how this is going to affect him emotionally. He also got a cat recently and my son was returned to me smelling awful and had scratches on his hands, chest, and back. He had a routine doctor's appointment and the doc thought his scratch looked like a bite. She questioned him about it. I'm wondering if I should call DCFS and/or the fire department to see if an investigation can be done. I think it's child endangerment. He'll be with his dad for the weekend in 4 days. His dad and I have been going to court on and off most of his life, but I'm thinking of filing another motion if he doesn't do something about his apartment with only 1 exit and sleeping with a woman while our son is sleeping on a thin piece of foam right next to them. Also, his bar was cited last month for serving underage minors and has had problems with bartenders selling drugs. Should my young son be exposed to this? Should I be concerned about his overall safety?
